We are no longer recording loose checks that are placed in the collection.  You are certainly welcome to write a check, but, if you want your contributions to be included on your end-of-year statement, you will need to either use your envelopes (or use one of the “Welcome” envelopes available on the credenza in the commons area and include your name, address and envelope number) or sign up for Faith Direct, our electronic giving program.  If you aren’t getting envelopes and would like them, please contact the parish office.  We can also let you know what your envelope number is if you don’t know what it is.

If you are a registered parishioner and would like an end-of-year statement sent to you, please call the parish office. We are happy to send statements to those who want them, but we do not automatically send them out without a request.

The annual Mardi Gras dance will be on Saturday, February 18th from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.  More details to follow in future bulletins.  Tickets will be $30 each and will be on sale after all masses starting Feb. 5th.

“YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT" Poor eating habits can lead to life-long health problems - obesity, diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure. Join Jewel London, RN on Saturday February 11, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and learn more about making healthy food choices. Make this a family affair and bring the kids. They will learn about healthy snacks and how to read labels. Nutritious snacks will be served. For more information, call Michele Stanco at 703-216-5668 or email her at michele.stanco@yahoo.com.

FOOD PANTRY:  The pantry is currently in need of a wide variety of food items, such as canned fruits and vegetables, soups, pastas, cereals, sandwich breads, peanut butter & jelly, tuna canned meats and stews, as well as other non-perishable foods.  Frozen meats may be dropped off Monday & Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday thru Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. or Saturday mornings between 8:30  & 9 a.m.

We also accept donations of toiletries, i.e., soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes (individually packaged), 8 oz. shampoo & small dish detergents.  Please remember, hunger does not take a vacation.  Thank you, your help is greatly needed and appreciated.  Items may be dropped off at the church in the wooden bin in the commons area.  Please call Madeline at the parish office for more information, or to volunteer.
