Poor Box
There is a Poor Box in the back of the church for you to make contributions which are then used to help those in need. There are many people who are in need, both in our own parish and in the greater community around us. Your generosity will help us to fill some of these needs.

Food Donations
We ask that you bring donations of non-perishable boxed and canned foods when you come to Mass. Place it in the large basket out in the commons area. Volunteers collect these donations each week and take them to ACTS, SERVE and the Hilda Barg Homeless Shelter

Giving Tree
Each year, during Advent, we ask you to take a tag off of the Giving Tree so that you can help fulfill a needy child's Christmas wishes. The tags list the special wishes of needy children along with their age and clothing size. The unwrapped gifts are collected and taken to the Armory where they are distributed to the parents of the children so that they themselves can wrap the gifts and give them to their children. We also have tags for money donations which are used to provide grocery gift certificates to the families.

Funeral Ministry
We try to provide food and serving help with after-funeral receptions here in the parish hall for the family and friends, if they so desire. Right now this is usually done through the Women of Sacred Heart. We would like to get a Bereavement Committee started to handle this, as well as providing support and comfort to grieving families, arranging meals, etc.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry makes and gives Prayer Shawls to the spiritually lost and who are in need of God’s comfort and guidance.  For the sick who suffer and are filled with fear to have encouragement and strengthen their trust in Jesus our great Physician.  To comfort and console the bereaved and give those who struggle with sorrow and sadness.  For those that are house or institution bound, that they are not forgotten.  This ministry is dedicated to all members of our parish and the out reach community.  
Sacred Heart is proud to announce that we have started a Prayer Shawl Ministry to serve with the Outreach Program.  We will make and give out Prayer Shawls to people who are in need of comfort for whatever the reason. We make shawls and talk and pray for those who are in need.  Those of you who can knit or crochet, or even quilt, are encouraged to attend.
