Pastor's Corner

Welcome to our web site. My name is Father Michael Bazan and I am the Pastor of this Parish Community we call Sacred Heart.

As a Catholic Community of Faith, we at Sacred Heart, strive to be a loving and compassionate Community that reaches out in faith through our Liturgies, Catechesis, Prayer and Material Goods to respond to our local community and the rest of the world. We strive to enable each member to grow in their relationship with God in a supportive community environment that helps each member realize that God loves them and cares about them. This Community is growing yet it still maintains an atmosphere in which its members cherish the time they spend with each other and many friendships have developed and continue to develop as new members participate in the various activities. We hope that this website will continue to develop as an important means of communication within the community and help us to maintain the intimacy that is so important to the spiritual and physical well being of a Parish Community.

Hailing from
Upstate New York, Fr. Mike moved to Virginia at age 5 and grew up in the Woodbridge area.
It was while serving in the Air Force and stationed in Germany that he decided to answer God's call to become a priest. He was ordained a priest on May 12, 1984, and has served in various other parishes in the Arlington Diocese.

Father Mike Bazan became Pastor of Sacred Heart in July of 2004, after spending eight years as Pastor of St. John the Evangelist in Warrenton.
Father Mike has been sharing his gifts with this faith community and invites each of us to share our gifts of time, talent and treasure with the parish as well. He wants to help us build this community into one in which all are welcomed, loved and treated with dignity and respect.
