Women of Sacred Heart
The Women of Sacred Heart (WOSH) was founded in 1980 with the purpose of supporting parish activities, developing spiritual growth, and a strong feeling of community among the women of Sacred Heart.
Community
All women who attend Sacred Heart Parish are automatically members of the Women of Sacred Heart. Monthly meetings are a great way to get to know one another on a more personal basis, and to share in parish activities. In today’s world, where family is often far away, it is a reassuring comfort to know that we have each other.
Meetings
Meetings are held year-round on Thursdays. On the first Thursday of the month, we play BUNCO in support of that month’s outreach project. The third Thursday is usually our “business” meeting where we discuss upcoming events and then have some activity. Some of our activities are playing games, making crafts, listening to a speaker, working on an outreach project, wine tastings, spa night and chocolate night. There is no requirement for the number of meetings you attend; come to one or two, or all of them. You are always welcome!
Parish Activities
- We are called to hostess all receptions – First Communion, Confirmation, Funerals, Clergy Appreciation, Easter Vigil and many more.
- We co-sponsor events for the parish children – craft show concession-stand sales, holiday events and Trunk or Treat.
- We aid in planning community planning events – Craft & Gift Shows, White Elephant Sale, Basket Raffle, Meatless Meals, and Parish Picnic.
- We assist the Outreach Committee in many endeavors – School Supply Drive, Turkey Dinner Kits, Giving Tree, Easter Baskets, Blessing Bags, and Card Making/Sales for Father Beiting Mission.
