Sacred Heart Youth Ministry
We envision our young people deepening their personal relationship and discipleship with Jesus Christ, understanding and loving the Church He established, developing Christian friendships, and growing in virtue in a non-threatening yet challenging way.
High School
All 9th through 12th graders are welcome to attend High School Youth Group on Sundays from 6 to 8 pm!! We get together for dinner, games, friendships, discussions about our faith, and living our faith in this sometimes-challenging world. Service is also an important part of what we do, we try to do a service project at least once a quarter. Youth Group is open to all high school teens, friends are welcome regardless of faith.
Annual Events:
Twilight Retreat – For high school seniors and college students. An evening beginning with dinner and praise & worship music, and includes Adoration, small group talks relevant to college life and transitions to college life, ending with a fun social event, like Cosmic Bowling, ice or roller skating, or broom-ball. This event is held sometime during the Winter break from school.
Work Camp – A week of repairing and renovating homes for people challenged physically, mentally, financially, or just in need of some help. Includes lots of music, prayer, fun, daily Mass, and lots of time, a deepening of faith. Sacred Heart has not gone away for a work camp in many years but we are looking for rising 9th graders through 12th graders to join us for this life-changing event.
Turkey Cup -This is a coed Soccer Tournament played with the churches in our Deanery(churches in our area) This is usually played the Saturday after Thanksgiving’
Middle School
All 6th-8th grade young people are invited to participate in the Middle school ministry. We meet Sundays from 4 to 5 in the parish hall.
Our goal is to allow our middle school young people to interact with Catholic friends who share their beliefs and can encourage them to live a Christian life. We get together every other Sunday. Our goal is to have fun and make friends. Currently, meetings consist of playing games and learning about our faith. Friends are always welcome to join us.
