What is RCIA?
The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) is a process of information and formation guided by the Gospel Word and the example of the community of believers. For more information and to register for classes, please call Deacon Al at the parish office.
Adult RCIA and RCIA for Children classes begin in September. If you have been baptized, please bring a current copy of your baptism certificate with you when you register for the class.
WHO IS RCIA FOR?
- An adult/youth (over the age of 8) who was baptized Catholic, but has not been catechized to receive any other Sacraments.
- An adult/youth (over the age of 8) who have been baptized into another Christian faith.
- An adult/youth (over the age of 7) who has never been baptized and is beginning the faith journey.
- It is for adults and youth from all walks of life and faith backgrounds who are curious about the Catholic Church and who have, at some - time and at some level, consider joining and becoming full members.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults was reintroduced into the Catholic Church as a result of Vatican II. It is a process whereby people are given an opportunity to learn about the Catholic faith, experience Church as a community, and decide to become members of that community through the Sacraments of Baptism (if needed), Confirmation and Eucharist.

Rite of Christian Initiation Adapted for Children (RCIA-Children)
RCIA-Children is a class for 3rd thru 8th graders who have not received the sacrament of First Communion, or have not been baptized. Parents are expected to participate as well.
